We at Indy Craft Brew have done our own polls and asked for opinions through our media channels, To compile our own list of the Top Craft Breweries, Best Brewpubs and Places to grab a Indiana Craft Brew.
Number One: Sunking Brewery – Locations Indianapolis, Fishers and Coming soon to Carmel. You can find Sun King beer at over 1,000 bars, restaurants and liquor stores in Indiana, as well as at their breweries and tasting rooms in Indianapolis, Fishers IN. Try one of their three house beers, available year-round: Sunlight Cream Ale, Wee Mac Scottish-Style Ale, SKB IPA and Osiris Pale Ale.
Indianapolis Location – The original downtown Indianapolis location opened as a small twelve tap tasting room and fifteen barrel brew house in half of an unused warehouse space. Today the downtown brewery campus occupies three buildings as the offerings and capacity continue to expand.
Fishers Location – The all-ages Sun King Tap Room and Small-Batch Brewery is the first venture outside Indianapolis to Fishers, Indiana (Soon to Carmel, Indiana). The 6,000 square-foot small-batch brewery is home to a three-barrel brewing system and a tap room featuring event space for community and private events.
Number Two: 3 Floyds Brewing Co. – 3 Floyds has been brewing up ales and lagers that fit their “It’s Not Normal” motto since their humble beginnings in 1996. The brewery sets itself apart by using the finest ingredients and innovations to make the best and most memorable beers. 3 Floyds is known for producing unique beers with an aggressive style that consistently make their way to the tops of craft brewery lists across the country. One of their most famous brews that was ranked number four in the country Zombie Dust. 3 Floyds Gumballhead, an American wheat beer is more widely available and very popular.
Number Three: Upland Brewing Co. – Tap House also Located in Carmel, Indiana.
Upland Brewing Company got its start in 1998 and today the Bloomington based brewery operates three locations across the state. Upland is named for the prehistoric glaciers that flattened most of the Midwest, but stopped in time to preserve the rolling hills in Southern Indiana. The land surrounding the brewery also inspires Upland. Upland is known for producing a wide variety of beers including widely available and popular Dragonfly IPA. Upland currently distributes their beers across Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and parts of Ohio.
