Indiana craft beer runs on gatherings, and the taproom calendar is the best proof of it. From multi-day festivals that sprawl across fairgrounds and riverfronts to single-night tap takeovers where a visiting brewer pours their own lineup, every entry here captures the social side of a scene that keeps surprising newcomers. The emphasis sits on friendly atmosphere as much as on liquid — shared tables, unfamiliar pours, and the kind of conversation that only happens after the third sample.

A tap takeover is where a brewery steps out of its own taproom and into someone else's, and that shift in setting changes the character of everything poured. Breweries from across the state arrive with limited releases, seasonal batches, and the occasional experimental brew that rarely makes it as far as a shelf. When those nights land on our events calendar, the write-up usually covers what showed up, what poured, and why it mattered to the local crowd of drinkers.

Beer releases and festivals fill the Indiana craft calendar in a way that makes planning feel almost seasonal. Spring and summer bring outdoor fest noise, bold hops, and long afternoons; autumn leans darker, toward stouts, spice, and barrel-aged warmth; winter settles into smaller indoor takeovers where the point is warmth and company. Our coverage follows that rhythm, keeping a running archive of Indiana craft beer gatherings so you know where the good evenings are before the taps run dry.

Behind the listings is a marketing and events mindset: local breweries and distributors need the same visibility and attention that any good drink deserves, and a well-documented taproom is the place that attention gets built. Reviews, photos, announcements, and club nights all feed the same loop. It is a hub for supporting local makers, sharing what is on tap, and encouraging people to drink close to home — because a great beer and a friendly atmosphere usually turn out to travel together.
